How this calculator works
Use the coverage or thickness method that matches the approved marking system. Enter bead and primer rates only from the project specification or product data sheet; the calculator does not invent generic application rates.

Use the rate that matches the marking system
The coverage method divides marked area by the product area-per-weight rate. The thickness method calculates volume first, then multiplies it by the thermoplastic density. Both methods add the entered waste allowance before whole-bag rounding.
Do not mix a spray-grade coverage rate with an extruded line, or reuse a rate from a different thickness, colour or application method. Product data and the project specification remain the controlling source.
Keep glass beads and primer separate
Drop-on bead weight equals marked area multiplied by the specified bead rate and waste allowance. Primer or tack-coat quantity uses the marked area and the approved liquid-per-area rate, so the two materials stay auditable instead of being hidden inside a fixed percentage.
If you enter an accessory rate, add its current unit price to receive a complete cost. Quantity remains visible when a price is missing, but the total material cost stays blank rather than pretending that an incomplete total is complete.
Read the purchasing result correctly
Thermoplastic weight is converted to whole bags using the entered bag weight. Purchased thermoplastic therefore rounds up, while bead and primer quantities remain continuous planning quantities until the supplier confirms packaging and minimum order increments.
Material cost covers thermoplastic bags and any entered beads and primer. Labour, equipment, removal, traffic control, delivery, testing, tax and mobilisation remain separate quote items.
Check the marking system before ordering
Confirm line width, film thickness, colour, surface preparation, bead system, primer compatibility and application method with the approved product data and project requirements. A quantity calculator cannot select the marking system or certify field performance.

Should I use product coverage or thickness and density?
Use product coverage when the manufacturer gives an area-per-weight rate for the exact line system. Use thickness and density when the approved data sheet supplies those values and coverage is not the controlling rate.
How are glass beads and primer calculated?
Each quantity is marked area multiplied by its approved rate and the entered waste allowance. Beads use mass per area; primer or tack coat uses liquid per area.
Why does the total cost stay blank?
A complete total requires a thermoplastic bag price and a price for every accessory whose rate you entered. The calculator keeps quantities visible but does not present a partial total as complete.
Does the calculator include labour or traffic control?
No. It is a material planning check. Labour, equipment, removal, traffic control, delivery, testing, tax and mobilisation should be priced separately.
Can I use a generic primer or bead rate?
Do not rely on a generic rate when the project or product data provides one. Enter the approved rate for the actual material state, line system and application method.
